Forty-two company codes. Four instances. One weekend.

Four regional ECC instances consolidated into a single S/4HANA tenant. Finance signed the reconciliation before the business was released on Monday.

Scope

  • SAP ECC 6.0 × 4
  • S/4HANA 2023
  • 42 company codes
  • FI · CO · MM · SD · PP

The board had rejected a phased rollout. There was one window and no second one.

Challenge

Four ECC instances had drifted apart over fifteen years. Different charts of accounts, different material numbering, and the same customers created three times under three names.

The business allowed one cutover weekend. Every regional controller had to sign before their users were let back in.

02

Approach

We harmonized master data across all four instances before the first mock load, and sequenced 140 migration objects into one runbook.

Three mock loads at full volume, then a dress rehearsal on the real clock. The rehearsal came in eleven hours inside the window, which is the margin we wanted.

03

Outcome

All 42 company codes went live on schedule. G/L balances and open items reconciled to zero variance on every code. No data defect was raised in hypercare.
